Types of UPVC Door Handles

Lever/Pad

Lever pad handles are a form of door handle made from UPVC that have levers on both sides that operate the multipoint lock. They are available in various finishes and variations and can be used on a wide range of materials that include UPVC doors, Aluminium doors & Timber Doors. They are sold in pairs for both the inner and exterior door, with spindles and screws included. They are also available in both handed and unhandled versions for different types of users.

These locks can be used to replace existing upvc door. They are usually operated by lifting the levers to throw out all of the multipoint locks and turning the key to close or unlock. They offer some extra security compared to traditional lever door handles as the locking operation can only be gained via the inside using a key unless the door is locked.

They're not as secure as a cylinder lock however they are a cost-effective way to add extra security to your home. The only drawback is that they do not provide the same level protection as a cylinder lock, and therefore don't block access to the home when the door is left open.

This is a very popular handle style for front doors. It has the benefit of keeping the door from opening from the outside without a key if the lock isn't deadlocked. This is achieved with a 'pad-shaped' external handle that locks into the gap between the handle and lock case.

This handle is designed to work with uPVC multipoint locks which use split spindle mechanisms. This kind of operation requires that the internal lever handle and external pad handle be attached to the same lock case. This could be a straightforward change from the current uPVC handles, but it could also require changing the lock case or a new set of handle furniture to allow for this additional functionality.

These aluminum levers and movable pad door handles are ideal for uPVC doors and feature a slide bearing that is maintenance-free fixing lugs, spring cassettes, and fixing lugs supplied. They feature a euro-style cut out and are fitted to a variety of uPVC and timber doors.

The lever moveable pad is available in various finishes to suit a wide variety of multipoint locks. They are designed to work with split spindle multipoint locks with a 92mm cylinder centre and require a special split spindle set that is provided by the lock manufacturer.

It consists of two handles that can be moved and locked using a thumbturn cylinder or keys. Pad handles can be used as a substitute to lever handles.
