Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.
It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt, pet hair, and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs, and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into difficult corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects like broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to install and performs well however, this is something you'll have to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the house and also detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and methodically. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively rapid.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach places. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to eliminate odors and stop buildup.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the strength of suction and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
It's expensive, but has many smart features. However, it's important to keep in mind that it has recurring costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as the 'Clean button' and a 'Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want a cleaner home without spending much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a excellent choice. It is a powerful machine with smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus
robot vacuum cleaner vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that has microfiber pads. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. It was able to collect an enormous amount of hair our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some nice jingles to let you know that it was starting and finishing its work.
Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the requirement to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which could be a hassle when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that is capable of mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, however it also has distinctive features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock that doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.
The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the
robot vacuum cleaners uk or use the dock's
automatic vacuum and mop robot emptying process. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it gets caught in an obstacle, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its application.
Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't too bad except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
