Item UpgradesThe feature of upgrading items allows players to upgrade their equipment. This can be done through any
item upgrader NPC.
Upgrades can boost the stats of an item and also add additional features based on the type of item. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs and Goldwrap for caster builds.
Armour
Link's armor is an essential element to protect him from harm. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in a variety of ways to improve its defence capabilities.
Armour is designed to shield animals and people from harm or injury from direct physical attack or a range of activity or environmental hazards. In the past, armour was primarily constructed from leather or fabric however later, metal protections were used as well, especially in military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones.
There are many ways to upgrade your armour, but the majority of them require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain offers a different level of upgrade, with higher levels of protection requiring more rupees and materials.
The first thing you need to know about Armor Upgrades is that they are permanent upgrades and once they've been applied they are not able to be replaced unless you have another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is important that you only apply the most effective level of upgrades to your gear and that you have the necessary materials to complete the process.
In terms of acquiring the upgrade components needed, you'll find them in a variety of places around Hyrule, including shrines, merchants, and even enemies. They are typically marked by an orange triangle or a gold circle symbol. They are found in huge numbers as you progress through. Although they can appear randomly, there's the possibility that acquiring certain upgrade components will result in quests that reward players with more.
It's important to note that, although the level offered by each upgrade could differ but it will always be greater than zero. This is because a complete set of upgraded armour will grant you a high defense boost that will protect you from all types of attacks, excluding magic, making it a powerful tool for any type of.
Weapons
If you're looking to make your guns truly unique, you can enhance them with a variety of special upgrades. They can boost damage, change the weapon's stats to cater to your build and even unlock new attachments like unique ammo types, enchantments, and aesthetic options.
You'll need both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon should also be at or above a certain point for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons only take one upgrade at a time.
You can find weapons upgrade components scattered across the globe and from enemies or purchased from vendors. The upgrade components themselves are a combination of components that can be incorporated into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to grant an attribute bonus or other impact while they're being used. The equipment must be a certain level before it can accept the upgrade. It is able to be upgraded in the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a mixture of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to enhance the stats of weapons and enhance their ability to scale with other stats. These upgrades can be obtained from enemies in the open world or from merchants. They are also dropped through combat.
There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon and an upgrade.
Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you're not likely to replace in the near future. If you're playing an asymmetrical build, for example, upgrade your weapon first, then your shoulders and chest before your hands and feet. The same principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that certain items may be better than others, based on your style of play. Similar is the case for Armour and reforges, with some having superior performance over others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item. If an upgrade plan is cancelled, any subsequent upgrades for the item won't begin. Magic items that are upgraded cost twice the amount of gold it would cost to create or purchase however, they also have extra benefits.
A magical
item upgrader mod is an item that has special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, however some include armor, shields and cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings, and other items. Some of these items are sentient.
Most magic items can be upgraded to become equipped with additional capabilities. This can make them more useful to players or help them overcome a difficult encounter. A weapon infused with a special substance might offer, for instance, additional damage against a specific kind of enemy. This is especially useful for those who have reached the level where they're likely to face a single type of monster in the dungeons.
A ring infused by magic could give immunity to non-magical attacks that bludgeon, pierce or cut (excluding attacks that are silvered) until the character gets another long rest. This is especially useful for melee martial characters or anyone looking to stay clear of buying a shield.
Certain enchanted objects possess special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that aren't in their class list. This is beneficial for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These magical objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana) and the spell is determined by rolling a table based on the amount of Intelligence point expended.
Other objects with enchanted powers could allow the player's appearance to change or create a brand new one. These are particularly beneficial for those who have had to leave their homes, or are in a situation where they might not be welcomed. A magical item can grant them invisibility or make them invisible for anyone, excluding the person they choose to.
Utility Items
Utility items are those that do not fit into the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons and have a range of different capabilities. Utility items are not compatible with each other, in contrast to weapons or armor. Most utility items have a passive effect that the player can activate by using them however, some come with additional capabilities that activate when the user presses the button or activates the ability.
The most popular type of utilitarian
item upgrader mod is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other items that are useful include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in any directions when on the ground. A variety of useful items can be immediately created in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through research projects or projects at the Proving Ground.
Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to the ones they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items are upgradeable for more effective use.
Most utility items increase an individual combat ability or give the player a kind of advantage when it comes to navigation. Sharpening stones, created by a Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, made by the Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other items of utility like Writs and Theses crafted by the Scribe, can be used to give players either an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip one utility item to begin the campaign. A second slot is available once you have completed certain research, engineering, or experiments on the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are created by equipping the Grenade Launcher which lets the player equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot, while an offensive grenade is equipped in the main slot for grenades.
