World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade item crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of the item will be available at the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know how much it can be improved upon the reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it's possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the chance of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 whenever you can.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the Best item upgrader way to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and give an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each item level requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When an individual player upgrade a piece of equipment the original item will be replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This could be a drawback because it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This is a good idea however it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded many times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely useful in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded version.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to the value of the base item.
