World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For instance an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the item to which it is used (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it's possible that the item upgrader mod will eventually become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.

These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades the equipment they have the original item will be replaced by an item that is new. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a problem because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. The item level upgrade will be replaced with the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
